Zahid grateful for Najib's conditional pardon, says Umno will launch fund to ease burden of fine

Umno has launched a contribution fund to help former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak pay off a RM50 million fine tied to his SRC International conviction.
Party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called on leaders, members and supporters to contribute voluntarily through an initiative he said would be transparent and compliant with existing laws.
The announcement came after the Pardons Board granted a conditional pardon, allowing Najib to serve the rest of his term under house arrest until August 2028, subject to paying his RM50 million fine and other conditions.
