Man charged with negligence after his pit bull mauled girl

Fisherman Lim Seer Hao was charged at the Mersing Magistrate Court on Wednesday after his mix-breed pit bull attacked his 11-year-old neighbour on June 27.

He was charged under Section 289 of the Penal Code for negligence and Section 3(1) of the Local Government Act 1976 (Dog Licensing By-Law) for keeping a pit bull without a licence.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
