Xavier urges Sabah and Sarawak to amend laws to tackle wildlife crimes

Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Dr Xavier Jayakumar urged for Sabah and Sarawak to amend existing wildlife legislation in order to increase punishment for poachers.

He said this would be in tandem with the Federal Government’s move to implement heavier penalty and jail terms in efforts to tackle wildlife crimes.

Another adult bull pygmy elephant was found shot dead with its tusks missing at a plantation in Beluran district on Sunday.
