Sitting on the banks of the very river that swallowed them during last week's devastating floods in Nepal, family members of several women from a hamlet in Trishuli performed their last rites on Wednesday (Sept 2).

The women had gone down to the paddy fields near the Trishuli river when the floodwaters swamped the area on Aug 26 morning.
