Wildlife abuse rampant in Miri, admits forestry chief

Despite being aware of protected species found to be illegally kept as pets and under extremely cruel conditions in Miri, Sarawak, the city’s forestry fepartment chief Anthony Banyan said his department has no proper equipment to rescue them.

Anthony said that when commenting on a case where a mother and baby macaques were found confined in a small cage at a house in the Taman Tunku housing estate.
