Villagers want Kedah durian plantation project scrapped

The Kedah government is going ahead with a durian planting project in parts of the Gunung Inas forest reserve in Baling.

But residents living around the area want the project to be scrapped as they claim that the project is being carried out at their expense.

They said the forest reserve has become their source of fresh water for generations but it's now tainted with muddy water.
