Trump creates energy council to boost US oil and gas, approves LNG exports

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Feb 14 in creating a new energy council to be led by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum that will seek to expand US output of oil and gas.
In addition, Trump said more than 600 million acres of offshore federal waters are now open to oil and gas development after his predecessor Joe Biden had taken them off the table.
