Sanusi's arrest nothing to do with state polls, says Zahid

The sedition charges made against Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has nothing to do with the upcoming polls in six states, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Umno president told reporters on Tuesday (July 18) that it was the Attorney General Chambers' decision to charge the Kedah Mentri Besar as they believed there was sufficient evidence to prosecute him, adding that Muhammad Sanusi would still be eligible to participate in the state polls as he had been sentenced (or found guilty) of any charges.
