Rais Yatim claims trial to sedition charge

Former Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim pleaded not guilty in the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court on Friday (Sept 25) to a sedition charge over remarks allegedly made in June concerning the Negri Sembilan customary leadership crisis.

The 84-year-old faces a maximum fine of RM5,000, up to three years' jail, or both, if convicted.
