Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob suffered an irregular heartbeat while at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Putrajaya on Thursday, and was taken to the National Heart Institute (IJN) by MACC officers, says his lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad.

He also told reporters that his client is set to undergo a pacemaker procedure on Friday (Aug 7) afternoon to treat the arrhythmia.

He also revealed that Ismail Sabri had fallen about two weeks ago and was admitted to Pantai Hospital, with a follow-up examination at IJN already scheduled for next Monday.
