Guidelines to regulate short-term rental accommodation being finalised

Guidelines to regulate short-term rental accommodation (STRA) are being finalised pending input from the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry before being resubmitted to the Cabinet.

Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Oct 26) that the proposed rules will cover registration, safety, cleanliness and compliance with local authority requirements, while the government continues to assess a proposed 180-night annual limit.
