Freedom of Information Bill may not require constitutional amendment, says Azalina

The Freedom of Information Bill 2026 will likely not require a constitutional amendment and could be passed by a simple majority in the Dewan Rakyat, says Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) said this was her personal view, while acknowledging that aspects of the Bill were still being reviewed by the Parliamentary Special Select Committee.
