Depot riot: Don’t protect the detainees, inform police, says Kedah top cop

Kedah police chief Comm Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad warned the public against protecting the Rohingya detainees who escaped from the Sungai Bakap Immigration Detention Depot near Bandar Baharu on Wednesday (April 20) as it would be a violation of the law.

He urged members of the public who spotted the detainees on foot anywhere to inform the police to enable further action to be taken.
