College student, boyfriend remanded six days over death of newborn

A college student and her boyfriend have been remanded for six days to assist in the investigation into the death of a newborn after the baby was thrown out from an apartment unit.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the 18-year-old girl is still being detained at Penang Hospital for further treatment and counselling sessions, while the girl's boyfriend, also 18, will be remanded at the Bayan Baru central lockup.
