Cheap coconuts expected to flood the market with Thaipusam procession cancelled

With the movement control order shuttering Thaipusam celebrations this year, hundreds of thousands of coconuts meant to be smashed in the annual ritual are set to hit wet markets in the country.

This glut is expected to lead to reduced prices for coconut milk and flesh.
