The components in Barisan National is comfortable with the spirit of cooperation under Muafakat Nasional as it is based on positive universal values, said its president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee told reporters that at the sideline of the Umno's annual General Assembly on Friday, while MIC president Tan Sri S. A. Vigneswaran also said he welcomed any forms of cooperation under Muafakat Nasional, and MIC has no problem to work with any parties as the country is a multiracial country.

Meanwhile, Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki reiterated his call to institutionalise the Pas-Umno charter which led to the creation of Muafakat Nasional (MN).

The new political pact should also include Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, MCA and MIC as well as BN-friendly parties, Friends of BN, he added.
