Aquaculture in Teluk Bahang facing bleak times with sea pollution

The sea off Teluk Bahang in Penang is believed to have been contaminated by heavy metal that has deprived fish breeders of their source of income as thousands of 'ikan kerapu' or grouper are dead.

The fish breeders urged the Department of Environment (DoE) and the Fisheries Department to find a solution fast before the entire aquaculture industry in this area goes under.
