Anwar slams worker exploitation as Bangladesh seeks labour market reopening

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has condemned the abuse of foreign workers in Malaysia, saying exploitation for personal gain cannot be tolerated, even as the country relies on foreign labour.
His comments came as visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman pushed for Malaysia to reopen its labour market to Bangladeshi workers, restricted since 2024 over forced labour allegations.
