Eating ant eggs might bring on a gag reflex for some but there are those who find its taste alluring.
In Phitsanulok, Thailand steamed ant egg curry is especially popular during the hot season.
One market vendor makes a unique version of this dish, mixing the ant eggs with curry and sweet basil.
However, instead of steaming the dish like it is usually done, she grills it on a stove which gives off a delightful aroma.
The dish is sold for Bt80 (US$2) per cup.
