JPJ raises over RM24mil from special number plate auction; ‘A9A’ tops at RM902K

The Transport Ministry, through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), has collected more than RM24mil in revenue from bids for the special registration number (NPI) series 'A__A', in conjunction with JPJ's 79th anniversary celebration.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke, speaking at a press conference on Thursday (April 24), said the highest bid was for the plate number A9A, which fetched RM902,020.
The five most bid-for numbers were A51A with 40 bidders, A101A (31 bidders), A8118A (29), A1881A (27), and A19A (27).
