40 years of military service won't shield former Army chief from charges - DPP

A former army chief must face the legal process like any other citizen, regardless of decades of distinguished military service, prosecutors emphasised following charges against retired general Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin acknowledged the accused's nearly four decades of service to national defence but made clear that such contributions do not place anyone above the law.
