Yusoff Rawther to oppose Anwar’s bid to delay civil suit

Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, a former research assistant, who accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sexual assault eight years ago, will oppose Anwar’s latest application to resolve several preliminary issues before the sexual assault civil suit proceeds to trial.

His lawyer, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, said the application would be challenged, describing it as an attempt to delay proceedings that were initially scheduled to begin in June last year.

Rafique added that the defence has until May 3 to file an affidavit opposing the application.
