Xi: The world must never return to 'the law of the jungle'

China’s President Xi Jinping on Wednesday (Sept 3) hosted a reception with foreign leaders following a military parade as part of a lavish event to mark 80 years since Japan's defeat at the end of World War Two.

Addressing world leaders and military veterans during the reception, Xi said the world should never return to “the law of the jungle”, adding that China would always be a force for peace, stability, and progress.
