Winter storm grips much of US in snow, ice, Arctic cold

A powerful winter storm spread a paralysing mix of heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain from the Ohio Valley and mid-South to New England on Jan 25.

Some of the heaviest snowfall, up to one foot or more, was measured in parts of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
