WHO says Omicron is not 'mild' as there is record weekly jump in Covid-19 cases

The World Health Organisation (WHO) told a press conference on Thursday that while the Covid-19 Omicron variant does appear to be less severe compared to Delta, especially in those vaccinated, it does not mean it should be categorised as “mild” because the variant is hospitalising and killing people.
