Wan Junaidi: No nomination from Opposition, so election of Deputy Speaker put off

The election of the Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker to replace Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said was postponed to avoid a "walkover" by the government, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He said this during a press conference in the House on Monday (Oct 3) after the election to fill the vacancy was postponed for the fifth time since Azalina vacated the post on Aug 23 last year.
