US unleashes Operation Economic Outcast on Iran after military pressure and naval blockade

At a press conference on Aug 24, US Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent announced that the United States had initiated Operation Economic Outcast against the Iranian regime and he described the latest economic pressure and sanctions as an "economic D-Day" for Tehran.

The operation aims to give a final warning to countries to sever their business ties with Iran or risk having key companies and entities cut off from the dollar-based financial system, amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict since February this year.
