US in no hurry for Iran deal, won't say if war resumes next week

Published on 1 Nov 2026 4:49:25 PM

US President Donald Trump said on Oct 31 Washington was in no hurry to strike a deal with Iran, and declined to say whether he expected the United States to go back to war with Tehran next week.

His comments came hours after Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered the country's armed forces to respond immediately and without geographic limits to any threat, while Iranian Security Chief Mohsen Rezaei said he had yet to reply a letter written to him by US Vice President JD Vance.
