Two sides of Iranian voice take centre stage at UN assembly

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the United Nations General Assembly on Sept 23 that Tehran would never surrender to the US but still believed in diplomacy and added that the US was the "terrorist" and not the Iranian regime.

Meanwhile, exiled Iranian opposition figure Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's last shah, said at the Concordia Summit on the sidelines of the assembly that Western governments should focus on supporting the Iranian people rather than negotiating with the clerical establishment in Tehran.
