Two committees to ensure smooth Sepang F1 GP

The Youth and Sports Ministry has set up two special committees to coordinate preparations for the Formula 1 Bahrain Gulf Air Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), which will be held from Oct 2 to 4.

Minister Dr Mohd Taufiq Johari said a steering committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary to the Government, will oversee inter-agency coordination, while a technical committee under the ministry will monitor preparations to ensure the race runs smoothly.

Speaking to reporters after a working visit to SIC on Thursday (July 30), he also said the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) technical team was satisfied with the condition of the circuit following an inspection last week, with no major issues detected.
