US President Donald Trump on Sept 28 said he would not have released the five people detained in Britain following an apparent plot to attack an airbase used by the United States.

British defence minister Wes Streeting said it was too early to say whether the suspected plot was linked to a foreign state.

Police said five suspects had been released on bail. The five men, all British nationals from London in their early 20s, were detained on Sept 27 after police were alerted by a local farmer about three white vans driving towards RAF Fairford which houses US military assets that fly missions in the US-Iran conflict.
