In the next few years, Jakartans are poised to enjoy their first light rail transit or LRT system and MRT network in the city. However, these advancements in public transportation have come with a hefty price. Thousands of trees and green lanes in the city, both of which the city lacks, have been sacrificed to make way for the massive infrastructure projects.
