'Total chaos': Thai Airways battles baggage delays as Bangkok floods ease

Published on 29 Sep 2026 6:14:38 PM

Thailand's flag carrier Thai Airways struggled to resume regular services on Tuesday (Sept 29) as frustrated passengers grappled with flight cancellations and baggage delays at the country's main airport, even as floods ease in Bangkok.

Around 5,600 bags from Thai Airways flights remained stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan, but they are expected to be cleared within 72 hours, the airline's Chief Executive Chai Eamsiri told reporters.
