Thailand's Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn was proclaimed the 10th King of the Chakri Dynasty, King Rama X on Thursday. Thailand's Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn granted audience to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, National Legislative Assembly (NLA) president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, Supreme Court president Veerapol Tungsuwan and Regent pro tempore Prem Tinsulanonda at a proclamation ceremony on Thursday evening.
At the audience held at the Ambhorn Sathan Villa in Dusit Palace, Pornpetch officially asked the Crown Prince to ascend the Throne and become the 10th King of the 234-year-old Chakri dynasty.
The Crown Prince accepted the invitation and paid respects to portraits of the late King Bhumibol and Queen, before his proclamation as King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.
