Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah says the Muslim character and identity of the ummah are facing serious challenges amid growing global influences.

He said social media, popular culture, entertainment and global lifestyles were increasingly shaping the younger generation, stressing the need to balance modernity with Muslim principles and identity.
