The government hopes all online platforms will fully comply with the Risk Mitigation Code, which took effect on June 1 under the Online Safety Act 2025 (Act 866), to curb fraudulent and harmful content, said Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching.
Speaking after the launch of 10 new electric delivery vehicles (EVs) by SPX Express in Bukit Raja Selatan, Klang, on Thursday (Aug 20), Teo said platforms have until year-end to comply, with nearly 100,000 pieces of fraudulent content removed as of July 15.
Meanwhile, she said the rise in online shopping had increased demand for last-mile deliveries, making EVs important in reducing pollution.
