US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday (April 8) that the Strait of Hormuz is open and the US military would be "hanging around" in the Middle East to ensure Iran complies with the ceasefire.

He also said it is non-negotiable in their ongoing talks that Iran cannot have nuclear capabilities, and the US military will monitor the country's enriched uranium stockpile.
