Six detained for smuggling 19,900 cartons of contraband fags in Sabah

The attempt by six illegal immigrants to smuggle in 19,900 cartons of contraband cigarettes failed when their boat was intercepted around Pulau Tetabuan waters at Sabah’s east coast on Wednesday (Oct 21).

A team from Sandakan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) detained the men and confiscated the goods and the vessel around 2pm while they were on patrol under Op Benteng.
