Selangor crime index down, likely due to MCO

The crime index in Selangor has dipped by about 18% in the first four months of 2020 compared to the same period last year.

Selangor police Covid-19 special spokesman Asst Comm Muhammad Yazid Muhammad Yew on Monday (April 20) said state police recorded 4,675 cases between Jan 1 and Apr 19 this year compared to 5,723 in the same period last year.

ACP Yazid 3,431 people have been arrested for flouting the movement control order (MCO), of which 1,400 of them were foreigners since the MCO was enforced in March 18.
