Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment Minister Yeo Bee Yin told a press conference in Pasir Gudang on Friday that a scientific committee has been set up to identify the cause and solution for the chemical waste pollution in Pasir Gudang.

She also said that the worst affected area of up to 680 metres in Sungai Kim Kim where the dumping occurred has been cleaned up.

The chemical leak, which started on March 7, saw more than 3,000 people seeking medical treatment while 111 schools in Pasir Gudang were ordered to close indefinitely.
