RM140mil MUDRA financing reaches nearly 6,000 Indian entrepreneurs, says Sim

Nearly 6,000 Indian entrepreneurs have received RM140mil in financing under the Indian Entrepreneur Capital and Economic Stimulus Package (MUDRA) as of August this year.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim said the RM220mil allocation announced earlier this year was the ministry’s highest to date for empowering Indian community micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Speaking after attending the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) Entrepreneur Summit 2026 on Sunday (Sept 20), he said the initiative aimed to extend funding and government assistance to more entrepreneurs, particularly those who had not previously received such support.
