Research of Malaysia's Covid-19 vaccine in proof-of-concept stage, Dewan Rakyat told

Research on the country’s Covid-19 vaccine is still in the proof-of-concept stage, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim said that on Monday (Dec 13) when replying to a question from Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PAS-Kuala Krai) on the current status of the locally developed mRNA vaccine, adding that the research is being carried out by researchers at the Institute for Medical Research (IMR), while studies related to the development of inactivated virus vaccine technology are being conducted by the IMR with the cooperation of experts from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the Veterinary Research Institute.
