Police probe video claim that foreigner was extorted by cop in KL

Investigations have started after a video on social media alleged that a policeman extorted money from a foreign woman in Kuala Lumpur.

Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Yahaya Othman said in a statement on Monday (April 3) that preliminary investigations showed the complainant alleged in a video that the extortion occurred after the woman failed to produce identification, adding that those identified will be called in to give their statements at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
