Police: Over 2000 loan shark cases reported from Jan 2016 to July 2017

A total of 2,273 cases of loan sharks which involved about RM 68.8mil in loans have been reported nationwide between January 2016 and July 2017. Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes and Investigation Deputy Director Commissioner Datuk A. Thaiveegan said this on Monday at a press conference to present the force's latest success in crippling four Ah Long syndicates who terrorised close to 30 borrowers who defaulted on their loans.
