PM: Seven initiatives to safeguard the people’s welfare

In announcing the "Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia" (Permai) assistance package on Monday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the three main objectives of the package is to combat the Covid-19 outbreak, safeguard the people's welfare and support the business community.

He said to meet the second objective of safeguarding the people's welfare, seven initiatives had been identified. These include Bantuan Rakyat Prihatin, RM2.2bil allocation for the Social Welfare Department and continuing the moratorium and reduction of loan instalment and payment.
