PM: CNY restrictions not to take away your freedom but break chain of Covid-19 infection

In a video address on Thursday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin wished all Malaysian Chinese a happy Chinese New Year, which falls on Friday.

Muhyiddin said the government is imposing certain standard operating procedures to ensure everyone is safe during the celebration.

“These restrictions include interstate and inter-district travel ban which results in many of you unable to return to their hometowns to meet their families. This restriction is not to take away your freedom but for the sake of everyone and to protect our lives, including those of our loved ones,” he said.
