PM calls for crackdown on foreigners misusing visit passes, says Fahmi

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for firm enforcement against foreign visitors who abuse social visit passes to work in Malaysia.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the Cabinet was briefed on Friday (Jan 30) on recent enforcement actions, with 54,791 individuals inspected and dealt with for such offences.

Authorities found that although the visitors entered the country for social or tourism purposes, elements of employment were detected.
