In his speech read out by Perkeso chairman Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal at the Perkeso Run & Ride 2022 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Oct 16), caretaker Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said some 16,906 contributors of Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) had become disabled or had died after suffering from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) last year.

He said contributors will not be able to generate income for the family when they become paralysed, so he urged them to practise a healthy lifestyle to prevent from getting NCDs.
