People on both sides of the strait are Chinese, Xi tells Taiwan's opposition leader

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday (April 10) that people on both sides of the Strait are all Chinese and the future of cross-strait relations between China and Taiwan is controlled by the Chinese people themselves.

Xi said this when he met with Taiwan's opposition leader Cheng Li-wun of Kuomintang during her peace mission and visit to China from April 7-12.
