Pemerkasa: RM2bil allocated for schoolchildren to purchase smart devices

Under the Pemerkasa economic stimulus package, the government will allocate RM2bil to increase the subsidy for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) households with schoolchildren to purchase smart devices.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said under the 2021 Budget announcement, a subsidy of RM180 was provided for the purchase of a mobile phone for all BPR recipients.
